ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Lillian is a wife, mother, grandmother, and a retired
kindergarten teacher.  Her children are now adults and the
grandchildren are in their teens.

Now that she is retired, Lillian enjoys several hobbies,
crafting, sewing, painting, reading, golfing and being a
school volunteer.

How did
The Knucklepuppies evolve?   The grandchildren
were playing with toys scattered over the floor, when the
author's son made the remark, "clean up those toys you
little knucklepuppies".  From discussions at a family
gathering the idea to do a book was born.

The author wanted the book to be simple and the
illustrations uncluttered for the benefit of young children.
The idea for the character of the knucklepuppy came from
making a fist.  Once the book was published the idea to
create a stuffed knucklepuppy came to mind.  "However,"
says Lillian, "that project was too difficult and turned into a
finger puppet!"  A tote bag and coloring sheet with crayons
was later added to give the product more appeal.

The book, the puppet--the tote, easy for a young child to
carry.
